Thanks to the wonderful Sonic Router, I got into TokiMonsta recently. Her own production is pretty vibed out, floaty shit. Super nice and definitely what I’m into right now.

But she put out a free remix mixtape last year and this is taken from it. I love beats like this, piano samples are winners more often than not. Jay’s voice fits perfectly over it too. I prefer this to the original fo sho sho.

So, Red Bull are flying me out to New York this week to write about the BC One B-Boy Champs, the preview video for which is above.

I’ve never been to NY, which, as a hip hopper, is a bit criminal. So to be flown out and put up in the motherfucking Soho Grand, is all a bit crazy. I’m covering it for my NME blog and I’m starting to feel like my writing is actually alright and worthwhile.
